EDEC11023 Principles and Dilemmas of Early Childhood Education
Course description
Students are given the opportunity to consider applications and implications of `best practice' in early childhood. A critical approach to a variety of curriculum frameworks is adopted and students analyse theoretical underpinnings and consequential roles for the teacher. What comprises quality early education programs is considered in some depth, drawing on knowledge about children's learning. Issues related to gender equity, social justice and anti-bias are addressed.
