EDCU14019 English Curriculum and Pedagogy

This course addresses literacy education and pedagogy for primary school teaching. As in the first course EDCU13016 Literacy in the Classroom, this course emphasises sociocultural theories of literacy learning. The course focuses on literacy unit planning and literacy in the middle and upper primary years with applicability to lower secondary years. Although English Curriculum and Pedagogy is closely aligned with syllabus directives it also takes into account the varied approaches to literacy planning and teaching operating in schools around Queensland.
