EDCU11023 Technology Curriculum and Pedagogy
Course description
Technology has been designated one of the eight Key Learning Areas in Australia and Queensland. As such it is a curriculum area new to many teachers. In this course students therefore explore ideas about teaching technology in primary and early childhood settings. Using the Technic material as a primary resource, approaches to teaching technology and means of integrating it with other curriculum areas are explored. The use of computers with the Technic materials, based on the Logo programming language, is also examined. (Students undertaking Advanced Professional Practice will be required to attend 12 hours of workshops prior to their fieldwork placement.)
