DRMA19014 Contemporary Performance
Course description
This course will enable students to explore contemporary performance using a variety of spaces and technologies including virtual reality, digital technology, film clip, stage, lecture platform, classroom, and the Internet. The contemporary aesthetic is to see conventional boundaries not as lines of demarcation but as intersecting and overlapping processes. Students will explore these liminal spaces using available technologies thereby developing both an understanding of new and contemporary ways of performance, and an ability to theorize performance from both within and outside the conventional dramatic aesthetic. Students will be expected to engage in a creative, risk-taking and problem-solving exercise that reflects aesthetic of contemporary performance.
