Course description
Film from the Pacific Rim is emerging as an important site for the exchange of ideas, cultural values and filmic styles within a globalised context of film making and viewing. This course will study a range of films produced in Pacific Rim countries, such as the USA, Hong Kong, Japan, China, Australia, Taiwan and those of South East Asia, in terms of the way they circulate ideas, images and knowledges about contemporary culture and public affairs within the Asia Pacific region.
