COIS20026 Database Development and Management

Course description

The aim of this course is to introduce the student to database technology from a managerial viewpoint, to the technical foundations underlying database methodology, and to the management of the database environment. Through this course, this student should gain an appreciation of the analysis, design, implementation, use and maintenance of organisational databases, and thus be able to communicate effectively with other database professionals. The four topics of the course are: introduction, software, data administration and design, and database applications.
