COIS13034 Information Systems Management
Course description
This course aims to integrate technology and people management within an E-commerce application framework. In an integrated way, we will first look at the multi-faceted aspects of electronic commerce (e-commerce). Secondly, we will investigate how technology, people, and process are integral to the analysis and formulation of e-commerce business solutions. We should accept that change is inevitable, primarily brought about by four technological trends: (1) the doubling of computer power every 18 months, perhaps better known as Moore?s law; (2) advances in data storage and data mining techniques; (3) advances in telecommunications, and (4) the internet. Nevertheless, the fundamental management, technology, and e-commerce issues presented will provide guidance for moving the enterprise forward as information technology evolves.
