CHEM11008 Essential Principles of Chemical Sciences
Course description
This course comprises the following topics:Physical chemistry: Introduction to chemical kinetics, elementary thermodynamics, colligative properties of solutions. Organic chemistry: reactions of monofunctional compounds (eg. hydrocarbons, alcohols, aldehydes and ketones, acids and acid derivatives, amines), spectroscopic identification of organic compounds. Distance education students will be required to attend a residential school for this course.
