BIOL11007 Principles of Animal and Plant Culture
Course description
This course provides foundation skills for the breeding and maintenance of animals, and cultivation and propagation of plants in controlled environments. Topics addressed include: animal ethics; transport, handling, care and maintenance of aquatic and terrestrial vertebrates and invertebrates; axenic culture of unicellular algae; tissue culture of vascular plants, and plant growth & propagation techniques. Emphasis will be placed on practical project work.
