Undergraduate Course Information

PSYC14023 Advanced Studies in Psychology

This course comprises two modules. Module I is called Theoretical Issues and has been designed for in-depth analysis of major theoretical issues that have underpinned the growth of psychology in the past decades. Module II is called Advanced Data Analysis and has been designed to expose students to various multivariate statistical techniques. Theoretical Issues aims to provide an understanding of the perpetual problems that have confronted the discipline of psychology. Advanced Data Analysis extends the statistical techniques introduced in the third year and introduces students to the powerful and relatively new technique of Structural Equation Modelling. The use of SPSS for Windows and AMOS programs will be heavily emphasised. Both modules are weighted equally. It is a requirement of enrolment in the course that students have access to the CQU World Wide Web site via the Internet.
