This course introduces students to the philosophies behind, and processes associated with, auditing buildings for compliance with the BCA and relevant legislation and codes including Occupational Health and Safety and Disability legislation. It will introduce students to the implications of heritage legislation and particular aspects of auditing associated with the refurbishment of buildings.This course will take students back to first principles so compliance can be determined both in the spirit of the legislation as well as by the rule book. Students will be involved in case studies to develop a practical understanding of the knowledge gained in this course.
