MGMT20079 Public Sector Management

The purpose of this course is to examine some of the key themes and issues that pertain to public sector; in particular theories of public management/administration, human resource management, the machinery of government, the structure of government agencies and intergovernment relations. While a good deal of the course focuses on the Australian scene and the major changes in the 1990s, comparisons with the major countries of the Asia-Pacific region are an important component of the course.
