Entry: No new enrolments are being accepted into this program.
Accreditation: Graduates are eligible for provisional registration with the Queensland Board of Teacher Registration. Full registration is gained following the equivalent of 12 months’ successful, full-time teaching. Practicum/Work Placement: 100 days of supervised fieldwork must be undertaken.

Program Overview

The aim of this program is to provide an avenue for workplace trainers and assessors to develop their expertise in the area of senior secondary schooling to meet the requirements of the Board of Teacher Registration and secondary school employment authorities.

Undergraduate Entry

These experienced practitioners will have extensive industry experience plus they will have completed formal qualifications in accredited vocational and/or paraprofessional training.

Students must apply for their 8 unspecified courses for their Trade or Industry specific qualifications which is a pre-requisite for entry to this program. Students will then be required to complete 24 courses from the lists below to be eligible for the award.

* Note that these courses are available in both Autumn and Winter Term but must be completed in the sequence of 48204, 48404, 48314 & 48414.

^ Students should not enrol in these courses. The course is used for credit transfer purposes only.

Program Structure: Graduate Entry

The minimum requirement for graduate entry is a 3 year degree (or its equivalent) with courses appropriate to VET teaching discipline areas.

Therefore the graduate entry program is of 2 years full-time equivalent duration. Compulsory first-year courses are noted as these courses are necessary to comply with BTR requirements.
