The Bachelor of Performing Arts program aims to prepare graduates who are competent to work in a variety of settings within the Arts industry. The program aims, through an integrated approach to learning, to provide students with a firm grounding across a broad range of professional areas, with expertise in at least one of the areas of study and a general appreciation and working knowledge of the other facets of the arts involved in the program. Through individual and group presentations students are able to work collaboratively with other arts professionals. Students gain real life experience through a series of workshops with professionals and professional companies as well as seven weeks placement in the industry in each of two years - Second and Third Year.
Program Structure
To satisfy the requirements of the award students must complete 24 courses or 144 units of credit as outlined below
Recommended Study Schedule:
The following schedule is designed for full time students who usually enrol in four courses per term (12 units of credit). Part time students should, therefore, modify the schedule to meet their own needs - observing all pre and co- requisite requirements. Students may fast track their study by undertaking specific courses which may be offered in Spring/Summer Terms. Courses such as Project/Placement could be arranged in discussion with the Course Coordinator to be undertaken in this way.
