ZOOL13014 Aquatic Physiology
This course explores the functioning of aquatic animals.
It considers both the adaptations of animals to particular environments
and the effects of various environmental parameters on the functioning
of the animals. Invertebrate and vertebrate examples are discussed.
Special topics such as buoyancy, bioumninescence, biological rhythms
and larval behaviour are considered, together with applied topics such
as the use of anaesthetics and hormones.
