PSYC12014 Social Psychology
This course emphasizes the applied aspects of
social psychological research and theory. Examples from everyday
life and applications to historical and current events are an integral
part of Social Psychology. Within this context, a number of major
areas will be covered. Social influence, for example, encompasses
such topics as persuasion, conformity, obedience, and group processes.
Social cognition, another key area, includes attribution and prejudice.
Lastly, applications of Social Psychology to the law and health
will be examined. It is a requirement of enrolment in the course
that students have access to the Internet.
