This course emphasizes the applied aspects of social psychological research and theory. Examples from everyday life and applications to historical and current events are an integral part of Social Psychology. Within this context, a number of major areas will be covered. Social influence, for example, encompasses such topics as persuasion, conformity, obedience, and group processes. Social cognition, another key area, includes attribution and prejudice. Lastly, applications of Social Psychology to the law and health will be examined. It is a requirement of enrolment in the course that students have access to the Internet.
