HMSC13022 Advanced Exercise & Work Physiology
This course examines the physiology and biochemistry of
sport as it relates to specific types of sporting endeavour - the
endurance sports, those requiring speed and power, as well as the
team games. Workplace practices examined will include assessment
of thermal load, metabolic demands and clothing appropriateness.
Practical sessions will involve the prescriptive and evaluative
procedures used in high performance sport and the workplace with emphasis
placed on bridging the gap between theory and practise. Project-based
learning is a major emphasis.
