GEOG19021 Geographic Information Systems & Remote
Sensing
This course will develop abilities to use maps, geographic
information systems, and remote sensing imagery. Students will study
the characteristics of maps, GIS, and air photos and satellite images,
and will be able to state the uses and limitations of such devices.
Basic abilities will be developed to use such systems and to produce
elementary maps and GIS layers, and to interpret remote sensing
information. Stress will be placed on appreciating the practical
utility of maps, GIS and remote sensing for research and problem
solving.
