ENEL13105 Electromagnetic Fields & Waves
Previous courses in electrical theory studies
have focused on the modelling of electrical elements as lumped parameters
(Electric Circuit Analysis) and the study of the input/output
characteristics of linear systems (Signals & Systems).
This course extends students' understanding of the behaviour
of electrical circuit elements when the physical dimension of the elements
is no longer negligible compared to the wavelength of the interacting
signal. The focus of learning will be on the general theory of electromagnetic
fields and waves applied to transmission lines, waveguides, antennas
and satellite communications.
