EDSE12015 Teaching Curriculm Literacies
In this course, students will demonstrate appropriate understandings
of, and provide explicit instruction in, the discourses and literacies
of their secondary school content/disciplines. They will
be analysing disciplinary genres and the explicit teaching of text
structures and rhetorical features. A knowledge of the field, mode
and tenor of disciplinary genres together with the linguistic constructions
of texts within specialised discipline areas is also addressed.
Students will learn how knowledge is constructed in curriculum areas
through modelling, discussion and guided practice.
