CHEM13027 Analytical Instrumentation
Offered Autumn term every odd year.
The following analytical techniques are studied: X-ray fluorescence;
source applications, sample preparation; electroanalytic techniques;
cells, potentials, reference electrodes, electrode types, ion-selective
electrodes: chromatographic techniques; HPLC, ion chromatography,
gas chromatography theory and practice, identification by gas chromatography, analysis
of variance, regression, optimisation methods: computing and computer
control of instrumentation. Distance education students will be required
to attend a residential school for this course.
