BLSV12023  Fire Safety Design

This course provides an understanding of fire safety design for Building Surveyors. It includes studies into: causes of fire and smoke in buildings; building structure and materials behaviour in fires; toxic gases; cost and risk; firefighting; detection and control systems; active and passive fire protection systems; and fire compliance requirements and responsibilities. It also provides an introduction to prescriptive and performance based solutions for fire safety design and available software packages.
