JOUR20016 Media & Communication
This course will examine media presentation of science
in commercial and public television and radio so that students understand
the constraints of the medium in any presentation. Other media,
such as press releases, advertising and brochures will be analysed
so students will be able to script such material and have input
into the overall design of the product. While some students will
have access to the facilities necessary to produce the end result,
others will provide the directions so that other specialists (illustrators,
for example) will be able to produce an item on the basis of these
directions.
