HLTH29030 Electronic Health Records and Standards
Students will examine the many facets associated with the introduction
of electronic health records and the Commonwealth Government's
HealthConnect initiative to enable them to respond in a knowledgeable
way to the re-shaping of the way in which patient information will be
managed in the health system. This course aims to facilitate its
graduates to make the best possible use of new and evolving
information and communication technologies now being introduced in the
health sector. This is expected to transform the way health care is
delivered, documented, reported and researched to improve health
outcomes and facilitate greater consumer involvement in their own
healthcare. This new course aims to facilitate learning about the
foundational building blocks needed for successful EHR construction.
