ZOOL19004 Insect Biology
Insects are the most numerous and diverse group
of animals. They are important both economically and ecologically.
In this course the taxonomy, functional anatomy and morphology of insects
will be introduced. Insect ecology, as it is related to pest management,
will be explored, particularly in the context of chemical and biological
methods of population control. Integrated pest management and modern
control strategies are considered.
