MMST11002 Constructing Cyberspace
This course examines the nature of on-line culture
and community, while providing the necessary skills for constructing
Web sites using Dynamic HTML technologies. Topics covered include
on-line culture and community, Dynamic HTML, Cascading Style Sheets,
Web imagery, principles of Web design, JavaScript and the Common
Gateway Interface. Practical work will involve the use of image-editing / GIF
animation software such as Adobe Photoshop, Macromedia Fireworks,
Jasc Paint Shop Pro or equivalent. Access to a multimedia computer with
an Internet connection and a CD-ROM drive is a requirement for this
course. Students who enrol in this course are expected to have an
understanding of the topics covered in 00101 Introduction to Multimedia. Students
who have completed 00301 Network Multimedia may not enrol.
