JOUR12015 Online Investigative Journalism
This course uses the Internet and computers to
develop advanced reporting techniques. It will identify and explore
journalism resources which exist on the web, often beyond the reach
of conventional search engines. It will refer to international investigative
reporting projects and consider the views of successful correspondents
and editors.
On completion of this course, students will be able to use
the Internet for complex reporting assignments, have produced a
professional research briefing and written a story from that briefing,
and be aware of the ethical responsibilities of journalists in finding,
using and communicating information.
