and recreational activities pursued in natural environments in Australia. Consideration
is given to the use, management, and conservation of these resources
and strategies for minimising impact through recreational and sporting
use. Through practical experiences, students develop their teaching
skills in a number of outdoor pursuits and the development of outdoor
pursuit programs. Consideration is given to the study of safety
aspects, including the care and maintenance of equipment, and an
examination of first aid procedures in isolated areas.
