EDED11326 School Policies & Programs
Not offered in 2001
School policies cover a wide spectrum of school life, and
assist school administrators, teachers and ancillary staff in making
decisions in the school context. Students in this course become
aware of how school policies and programs originate and the process
by which they are implemented in schools. A selection of school
policies and programs are introduced in the course and students
are introduced to various policies and programs and their function
in school settings. Students also learn skills in researching, consulting,
drafting, updating, evaluating, reviewing, interpreting, analysing
and explaining school policies. Students should also be able to
develop policies and programs for their own setting by identifying
a policy omission in their school context and drafting a policy
to fill this gap.
