COMM12016 Mass Media & Journalism
This course aims to provide students with critical
perspectives on journalism and the Australian mass media. It analyses,
in both contemporary and historical contexts, important issues such
as ethics, privacy and ownership, as well as identifying changes
in journalistic practice and organisation. The course encourages
an understanding of the institutions and industries in which journalists
work, and promotes student research skills in order to further their
critical awareness.
