COIS11015  Introductory Computing Applications (for Chemistry & Biological Science students)

This course provides basic computing skills and confidence. Components of a personal computer are introduced as are DOS and Windows. Word processing, spreadsheet applications, computer communications and electronic mail are covered. An integrated software package will be used. Special discipline based applications are addressed. For example for chemistry students, applications of spreadsheets and Chemistry structure drawing and nomenclature programs are features of the course.
