FINC20009 Advanced Finance
On completion of this course you should be able
to:
- understand a broad range of
theories used in developing financial decision making tools
- evaluate aspects of the theoretical research which has
been carried out
- apply prescriptive rules to the solution of corporate financial
problems
- appreciate the vast amount of work still to be done in
establishing a cohesive theory of finance.
Topics include: Review of basic introductory principles; Corporate
decision making and valuation under certainty; Capital budgeting,
cash flow definition and estimation; Decision making under uncertainty;
Portfolio formation and estimation; CAPM and APT (market equilibrium):
Review of efficient markets, theory; Capital budgeting under uncertainty;
Capital structure theory; Capital structure - evidence and application; Dividend
policy; Mergers and Acquisitions; International finance, theory
and application.
