EDED20288 Leadership for Change
in Education
While taking as its starting point the work of
school administrators as educational leaders, this course encourages
a broader application and exploration of the competence involved
in the work of educational leaders. Hence, teachers, parents, guidance
counsellors, educational advisers, advanced skills teachers and trainers
are considered as integral to leadership development. Students are
encouraged to focus on their own work as educational leaders by
considering where they are situated in relation to a range of perspectives on
leadership; by examining their part in responding to and making
educational change in the context of recent developments throughout
Australia; and by exploring the possibilities of a reflective approach
to their own professional self-development.
