Bachelor of Vocational Education & Training (VET) CU31

Duration: 3 years full-time, 6 years part-time (including 2 years part-time advanced standing).
Mode: External only.
Location(On-Campus): Not offered internally.
Courses/Units of Credit: 24 courses/144 units of credit.
Faculty: Education & Creative Arts.
Entry: Direct. Candidates will commence studies with industry qualifications recognised by relevant Industry Training Advisory Bodies (ITAB) as sufficient to teach up to at least Australian Qualifications Framework Level 3 competencies embedded in modules or programs.
Accreditation: Nil.
Practicum/Work Placement: 250 hours of supervised training practice.
Residential School: Nil.
Exit Awards: Advanced Diploma of VET; (equivalent of 16 courses).

Program Overview

The program aims to articulate with and extend the formal requirements of Workplace Trainer and Assessor Category 3 Competency Standard, and to:

  • develop critical thinking and understanding about the social, philosophical and economic contexts of training and development;
  • demonstrate leadership in industry in training and development;
  • progress the relevant graduate studies in training and business;
  • deliver training across diverse training contexts and conditions.

Entry

Candidates will commence studies with industry qualifications recognised by relevant Industry Training Advisory Bodies (ITAB). The minimum entry requirement is a trade or industry recognised Certificate III plus verifiable recent, relevant work experience.

You will be required to obtain access to training environments in which you can be observed as training practitioners and where you can undertake workplace based assignments. It is the responsibility of candidates to ensure that they have access to a role as a trainer.

Program Structure

Students must apply for their 8 unspecified courses for their Trade or Industry specific qualifications which is a pre-requisite for entry to this program.

Students will then be required to complete 16 courses from the lists below to be eligible for the award.

Please note that full-time students usually enrol in four courses per term and part-time students usually enrol in two courses per term per term.
