Program Overview This certificate is designed to meet the needs of General Registered Nurses who have not practised for five years or more. The program will provide an update both in theory and clinical components of nursing practice. Clinical RequirementThe length of clinical practice is determined by the students ability to meet ANCI competencies. The minimum clinical requirement is 160 hours. Students will be placed in clinical agencies as close to their residential community as possible. When ready to complete the clinical portion of the program, a preceptor will be assigned. The preceptor is a Registered Nurse who will work in the clinical agency where you are completing the clinical part of the program. Students gaining a grade point average of 5.0 will be given exemptions on entering the Bachelor of Health (Nursing) Post Registration. For students who do not meet the above requirement, they may enter the Bachelor of Health (Nursing) Post Registration and select to study elective courses in place of NURS10087 , NURS12097 .
