Program Overview

Graduates of the Bachelor of Science (Applied Physics) course who demonstrate outstanding performance may apply for entry into the honours degree program. Graduates from other institutions are welcome to apply for admission. A study program for the course can be considered with the Program Coordinator.

Program Structure

Students must complete

  • two compulsory courses, which are:
  • four Level 4/5 courses, which may be chosen from Level 4/5 courses available throughout the University plus a limited number of Level 3 courses not already undertaken provided they meet the objectives of the course, subject to approval.

Projects

Applied Physics staff list their research interests and indicate the projects they are willing to supervise. Students may contact these staff to discuss the project they are interested in as well as the associated course work program that will support their project.

The available level of gradings for those undertaking their honours program are:

    First Class
    Second Class, Division A
    Second Class, Division B
    Third Class
    Fail
