Business Majors: Accreditation & Membership
Marketing graduates may be eligible for membership of the Australian Marketing Institute and the Australian Market and Social Research Society.
Management graduates may be eligible for membership of the Australian Institute of Management.
The Information Systems major is acredited by the Australian Computer Society (ACS). The ACS accredits each campus individually; therefore students should check the current status of accreditation for newly established locations. For enquiries concerning eligibility or membership, please refer to the ACS official website http://www.acs.org.au/
The Supply Chain Management major is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS). Graduates may apply for membership of CIPS.
Application for credit transfer
Exemption/credit transfer will only be granted where a student is able to demonstrate that they have completed and received a 'Pass' or above in tertiary studies equivalent in content, depth and rated units of credit to a Bachelor of Accounting/Bachelor of Business course, and that such credit meets the requirements of the professional bodies that accredit the program. Students must contact the relevant professional bodies to determine whether the credit transfer/exemption they have requested and/or received will affect their application for membership.
Refer to the Credit Transfer website at http://www.cqu.edu.au/credittransfer for further details on the guidelines and application process.
Study Plans and Schedules
A recommended study schedule for this program can be obtained from your Program Advisor or the Faculty website. Students may determine their own schedule based upon credit transfers and personal study requirements. It is important to note that full-time students usually enrol in 4 courses per term and part-time students usually enrol in 2 courses per term.
For Program Planners please refer to the Faculty of Arts, Business, Informatics and Education website located at http://www.cqu.edu.au/academic/hed/changes-and-planners.
Note: students must check to see when and where a course is offered before enrolling. See the course availability in this handbook for details.
