CC08 - Graduate Diploma of Safety Science

Program Aim

The Graduate Diploma in Safety Science is an applied science program that provides students with the option of specialising in Human Factors. Safety Science is based in psychology with cross-disciplinary influences from engineering, ergonomics, management and industrial design.

Throughout the program students will learn a comprehensive body of knowledge and develop key skills to allow them to manage safety in organisations. The program is targeted at mature students who are typically working full-time and looking to upgrade their skills. Thus, the program is designed to be taken part-time in distance mode entry to the program can be either by undergraduate degree or through work experience in safety at upper or middle management levels. Graduates of the program will possess a comprehensive set of skills and knowledge that will allow them to effectively manage safety in an organisation.

Program Structure
Students electing to specialise in Human Factors are required to take Human Factors Integration and Organisational Safety as core courses.
