| Entry Requirements | Applications can be registered nurses or/ registered midwives seeking to update their knowledge and skills.
Note: Students seeking a Return to Practice program would enrol in the Graduate Diploma of Midwifery (CG33) and apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) into the program (subject to specific Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA) special requirements). |
| Professional Accreditation | Upon successful completion of the program, students make an application for registration as a midwife to the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA). |
| Residential School | There are compulsory 5-day residential schools (Mackay or Noosa) conducted prior to the commencement of each of the three (3) terms of study. See the Residential Schools for more information. |
| Practicum/Work placement | A minimum of 1000 clinical midwifery practice hours are required over the eighteen (18) months of the program. Note: Additional hours may required to meet midwifery 'continuity of care' experiences.

CQUniversity has a three term year. Each term is of 12 weeks duration, commencing in February, July and November.
