Career Opportunities
Occupational therapists are employed in a range of settings such as public and private hospitals, rehabilitation centres, schools, nursing homes, research institutions, special, centres for persons with a social, intellectual or physical disability and private practice. They are also employed as mental health workers and rehabilitation consultants.
About Occupational Therapy
The Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours) provides students with the knowledge and skills to practice as an occupational therapist. It is a four year program offered in internal mode at Rockhampton campus. The program includes graduate attributes that foster problem solving, critical thinking, encourage a culture of lifelong learning and produce workplace ready graduates. It includes communication, human body systems, problem solving in the workplace, the role of the occupational therapist and healthcare in contemporary society. Graduates will have the ability to work collaboratively with people with impaired body structure or function and help them overcome barriers to participation in everyday activities.
