Entry Requirements

Entry requirements for this program vary substantially depending on the major to be studied. It is important to understand that strong research skills and strong writing skills are essential for applicants in all of the majors. This is because thoroughly researched, well structured and competently written essays of up to 4000-5000 words are required within the Indigenous Studies courses.

 

Master of Indigenous Studies (Business)

Master of Indigenous Studies (Human Resource Management)

To gain entry into the Human Resource Management major, applicants require a Bachelor's degree, sound research skills and strong writing skills. Phone 13 2786 for further details.

 

Master of Indigenous Studies (Education)

To gain entry into the Education major, applicants require a four year Bachelor's degree or a three year Bachelor's degree with considerable work experience. Sound research skills and strong writing skills are essential. Phone 13 2786 for further details.

 

Master of Indigenous Studies (Environmental Management)
To gain entry into the Environmental Management major, applicants require a Bachelor's degree in science, environmental science or a related discipline. Sound research skills and strong writing skills are also essential. Phone 13 2786 for further details.

 

Master of Indigenous Studies (Health Promotion)

o gain entry into the Health Promotion major, applicants require a Bachelor's degree in health promotion, exercise and sport sciences, social work, community development or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience. Master of Indigenous Studies (Project Management) 

There are two streams within the Project Management major: Project Management for the human services sector, and Project Management for mining and construction. To gain entry into Project Management for human services, applicants require a Bachelor's degree, sound research skills and strong writing skills. Phone 13 2786 for further details.

To gain entry into Project Management for mining and construction:

  • Applicants must possess a Bachelor's degree, sound research skills and strong writing skills;
  • Applicants must be employees or contractors for an organisation in the resources and infrastructure industry in Central Queensland; 
  • Applicants must possess a Vocational Diploma of Project Management (BSB51407) or be able to demonstrate an equivalent level of knowledge gained through experience; 
  • Applicants must be available to complete an accelerated two day induction assessment program that runs in Gladstone, Mackay and Rockhampton. Phone 13 2786 for further details.

 

 

Master or Grad Dip of Indigenous Studies (Sustainable Communities)

To gain entry into the Sustainable Communities major, applicants require a Bachelor's degree, sound research skills and strong writing skills. Phone 13 2786 for further details.

 

Master or Grad Dip of Indigenous Studies (Information & Communication Technology)

To gain entry into the Information and Communication Technology major, applicants require a prior qualification from an Australian Computer Society accredited program (or overseas equivalent) and demonstrable expertise in information technology or information systems.
