The Associate Degree in Learning Management program provides personal and professional development for a variety of school support workers such as Teacher Aides. The program will help students become better skilled in supporting learners in the areas of literacy and numeracy and in assisting those with special needs.

The Associate Degree in Learning Management is designed to enable students to:

• Assess theories and practices appropriate for the management of learning in a range of educational settings
• Identify contextual factors that affect teaching and learning in changing educational environments
• Apply a range of strategies that promote learning and engagement in response to individual student needs
• Communicate effectively with educational stakeholders to report on student outcomes and support defined educational goals
• Evaluate the effectiveness of support strategies using broad knowledge of literacy and numeracy learning and acquisition

• Participate in collegial teams to revise the ethics, principles and models of practice that comprise the work of educational professionals and paraprofessionals

The Associate Degree in Learning Management consists of 16 courses/96 units of credit.

Teacher aides with at least two years experience or who are recommended by the Principal of the school in which they are employed are eligible to apply for entry. The recommendation by the school's principal for entry must be supportive of the applicant's ability to complete the program.

Students will be required to enrol as an internal student but will be able to study online while they continue in their employment within an educational setting.

Graduates of the Associate Degree in Learning Management may be eligible to articulate into an ‘internal' offering of the CU79 Bachelor of Learning Management (Primary Education) program.  Upon successful completion of the BLM (Primary Education) program, graduates are eligible for Teacher Registration in Queensland.
