Entry requirements

 

Applicants must have completed CQUniversity’s Graduate Diploma in Water Resources Management or an Australian equivalent.

 

International students should visit http://www.international.cqu.edu.au/ for further information including English language requirements.

Program Rules

 

1. This is a full fee paying programme.

 

2. Students must complete at least 50% of their studies at their home institution.

 

3. Students who undertake study option 3 or 4 are required to complete a 'Research Methodology' course as part of their elective course requirement prior to the commencement of their research or industry project. This course will require students to develop a project proposal. This proposal will form the basis of the proposal required to be approved by the Head of Program in the semester prior to commencing study options 3 or 4.

 

4. At the discretion of the Head of Program, students may be granted credit for two coursework electives where students are able to provide evidence that they have successfully completed a similar postgraduate course previously. Credit will not be granted for the core courses.

 

5. Students may be allowed to undertake coursework electives from other university postgraduate courses with the approval of the Head of Program.

 

6. Students who intend to specialise in a particular area are advised to take at least 3 coursework electives within one of the six streams..

 

7. Students must satisfy course pre-requisites, unless otherwise approved by the Head of  Program.

Program Notes

 


1.  All the International Centre of Excellence in Water Resources Management (ICE WaRM) Universities contribute expertise to the delivery of the core courses. These courses and other specified courses are delivered using ‘Access Grid', an internet conference facility.

 

2.  This programme is full fee paying.

 

3.  It is important to note that not all coursework electives will be offered every year or study period and that timetabling difficulties may prevent enrolment in some electives.  Availability of some coursework electives may be subject to minimum enrolment requirements.  Students are urged to discuss their coursework electives with the Head of  Program.

The collaborative and innovative teaching arrangements between the five universities (CQUniversity, University of South Australia, University of Adelaide, Deakin University and Flinders University) and the International Centre of Excellence in Water Resources Management provides a gateway to Australia's collective expertise and support in water management training, education and research.

 

A Water Resources Management Course Advisory Group consists of several stakeholders including the CQUniversity Water Resources Management Group, ICEWaRM - Board of Studies (CQUniversity is a member) and the CQUniversity Environmental Management industry advisory group. The Committee has been, and continues to be involved in all aspects of program development including identification of learning objectives and outcomes, content validation, assessment issues and matters related to the design and delivery of each course unit.

 

A total of 72 units of credit or its equivalent is achieved through satisfactory completion of the Graduate Certificate and Graduate Diploma together with the Masters.

Computing Requirements

 

It is a requirement of enrolment in this program that students have access to the CQUniversity website via internet. Students may be required to undertake various components of study in the program using email and the Internet.

 

It is strongly recommended that students have access to a broadband connection or higher to access online student resources that would include but not limited to, email, internet, video streaming, electronic assessment submission.
