Program Aim
The Bachelor of Information Technology (Co-op) provides a distinguished bachelors degree in IT that enables students to acquire valuable experience through a paid, supervised, industry placement. Students normally undertake industry placement following the successful completion of two years (4 terms) of study. Industry placements are typically of six months duration.
The core courses in this program provide the student with a solid grounding in the core body of IT knowledge and skills as defined by the Australian Computer Society (ACS). Specialisation courses in all three years of the program allow students to choose an area of specialisation in preparation for employment or further study.
Program Structure
Students are required to complete 24 courses (144 units of credit):
- 8 compulsory courses;
- 2 industry placement courses;
- 1 specialisation (6 courses); and
- 8 electives
