CB29 - Bachelor of Oral Health

Program Aim

Bachelor of Oral Health graduates will be able to apply to the Dental Board of Australia for registration as an oral health therapist, OR a dental therapist and a dental hygienist. They will be able to perform preventive and operative dentistry for patients across the lifespan in general and specialist dental practices within Australia. Graduates are also able to educate and promote oral health in small group and community settings.

Program Structure

Students must successfully complete 20 courses.

 

First year provides the scientific foundations for clinical practice and introduces students to the clinical environment as dental assistants. First year can be completed full- or part-time either on campus or externally with residential schools. Second and third years are then completed full-time on the Rockhampton campus where students learn the underpinning knowledge and develop clinical skills in the simulation and prosthetic laboratory and then progress to treating peers and patients in a variety of clinical environments.
