Prerequisites: OP>14 or equivalent expected.

Recommended study - English (4, SA), Maths B (4, SA), Chemistry, Biology, Science

For those students who have not studied chemistry it is highly recommended to enrol in an introductory chemistry course at CQUniveristy.

Professional Accreditation

The program has received preliminary approval with the Council of Ambulance Authorities (CAA)

Professional Body Membership - as a student you are eligible for membership with Student Paramedics Australasia (SPA) with membership with Paramedics Australasia (previously ACAP) upon employment with an ambulance service.

Residential School

There are several compulsory residential schools/workshops attached to the following program when taken in the EXTERNAL mode. See More Details for more information.

Practicum/Work placement

Students will be required to undertake a minimum of 14 weeks (560 hours) of compulsory off-campus clinical placements during the three years of the program as well as an orientation program by the Queensland Ambulance Service. Students will be provided with over 1000 hours of simulation training focussing on real world patient conditions through high fidelity simulation.
