Study Schedules

A recommended study schedule for this program can be obtained from your Program Advisor or the Faculty website. Students may determine their own schedule based upon credit transfers and personal study requirements. It is important to note that full-time students usually enrol in 4 courses per term and part-time students usually enrol in 2 courses per term.

For Program Planners please refer to the Faculty of Arts, Business, Informatics and Education website located at www.cqu.edu.au/fabieplannersandprogramchanges/.

Note: Students must check to see when and where a course is offered before enrolling. See the course availability in this handbook for details.

Work Integrated Learning (WIL)

At present, the Bachelor of Tourism has no formal requirement for students to undertake internships within the degree.  However, CQUniversity will be offering a number of opportunities for students to undertake quality internships if they wish to with key industry partners.  These internships will be competitive and students will need to apply.

In addition, each tourism course (TOUR course code) will integrate Work Integrated Learning into the course through using industry relevant case studies and utilising industry speakers within each course.  Some courses will also utilise field trips and industry visits where possible.

TAFE Students

CQUniversity and Sunshine Coast Institute of TAFE (SCIT) have established a partnership to collaborate in the delivery of the Bachelor of Tourism at SCIT's Noosa campus.  This arrangement will enable graduates of the SCIT Diploma of Tourism and Diploma of Events to articulate directly into University studies.

Diploma graduates can transition directly from SCIT into the second year of the CQUniversity Bachelor of Tourism program.

Students can apply for entry into the program via the ‘Application for Admission - Undergraduate Direct Entry' form located at http://handbook.cqu.edu.au/FCWViewer/getFile.do?id=24374
