Program Aim
The Doctor of Education (EdD) is a doctoral program of supervised research and research tasks designed for professional practitioners/educators, comprising:
- structured research tasks;
- proposal development, and
- thesis component.
The program is governed by the Program Rules for the Degree of Doctor of Education. These rules provide details pertaining to all aspects of admission, progression, submission and examination.
Program Structure
The program will normally be undertaken by candidates through full-time study over 4 years or part-time study over 8 years.
Candidates will complete four research oriented tasks in consultation with their supervisor prior to submitting their research proposal. Candidates are also required to defend their research proposal to a Doctor of Education panel prior to progressing to the thesis component.
