The Master program will be a 3 year part-time nominal program with the first two years common with CG32 Graduate Diploma program.  Students accepted into this program will receive up to 66% credit transfer from the completed CG32 program or equivalent. 

 

This 1 year top-up program will consist of 3 consecutive one term offering of the following courses:

 

RAIL29020 OPS7 - Railway Operations Management Project Definition and Planning

 

RAIL29021 OPS8- Railway Operations Management Project Implementation

 

RAIL29022 OPS9 Railway Operations Management Project Implementation

 

Each of the three courses will be available in term 1, term 2 or term 3.

 

The program is intended to allow the more academically capable rail operation managers to develop a higher level of investigation/research skills, and to gain recognition in the form of a higher qualification.

 

The outcomes of the project undertaken by students in this program should help to push the boundary of professional practice in rail operations and to benefit the railway industry.

 

Entry requirements

 

Students entering the Master program will need to demonstrate two fundamental attributes:

 

a) Sufficient analytical ability to be able to assess a complex problem and determine appropriate solutions

 

b) Sound knowledge in the field of rail operations management

 

Entry paths are:

 

a) Completion of the Graduate Diploma in Rail Operations Management with a Weighted Grade Point Average of 5.5 or higher.

 

OR

 

b) Other postgraduate qualifications and experience that demonstrate achievement of the above fundamental attributes. Applicants seeking entry via this path will need to attend an interview with members of the steering committee to determine suitability.

Computing Requirements

 

It is a requirement of enrolment in this program that students have access to the CQUniversity website via internet. Students may be required to undertake various components of study in the program using email and the Internet.

 

It is strongly recommended that students have access to a broadband connection or higher to access online student resources that would include but not limited to, email, internet, video streaming, electronic assessment submission.
