CV09 - Graduate Diploma of Learning and Teaching (Specialisation)

Program Aim

Graduates of the Graduate Diploma of Learning and Teaching will be workplace and future orientated, and as such will have the demonstrated capacity to enhance workplace capability and a clear focus on designing pedagogical strategies to achieve learning.  Graduates will have knowledge and skills in the use of Dimensions of Learning Instructional Framework.  The specific professional standards that graduates will demonstrate by direct, indirect and supplementary evidence is derived from the Queensland College of Teachers Professional Standards for Queensland Teachers.

 

Students will be required to complete extensive Embedded Professional Learning which will consist of three days per week placement over school terms 2 and 3, plus a 6 week Internship over the first six weeks of school’s term four for five days per week.

 

Graduates will be eligible to teach in one of the following educational or workplace settings based on the completion of the Embedded Professional Learning and Internship within that setting:

- Primary School (Years 1 - 7)

- Secondary School (Years 8 - 12)

Program Structure

To be eligible to graduate with the Graduate Diploma of Learning and Teaching degree, students must complete a total of 48 units of credit (equivalent to 8 x 6 units of credit postgraduate courses).

 

Students must attend the three compulsory residential schools (10 days in total).
